Conference started today with the Pre-Conference seminars. Hands-on labs were also opened in the morning.
However, it was my free day and didn’t attended any of the seminars. I had to stay at the hotel to do remote assistance at a project. In the afternoon I had a front seat row at the keynote… on streaming. To my shame I didn’t managed to get at the conference center in time. But I did a lot of productive work. I guess the conference will start for me tomorrow.
The keynote was rich in demos, with content targeted at both Developers and IT Professionals. The main theme was of course Cloud with its three aspects: Infrastructure, Platform, Software.
I guess one can summarize the keyonote as:
- IaaS – Hyper-V, System Center
- PaaS – Windows Azure
- SaaS – Office 365 (formerly BPOS) and Dynamics
Of course it was more than that, I was particularly interested in the System Center demos: first it was a demo of System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 CTP (deploy cloud) and then a demo on how to add instrumentation to an ASP.NET applications using Avicode technologies in Operations Manager.
Nothing on Configuration Manager v.Next though. I guess this will be compensated at the management sessions and at the hands-on labs.
