Windows Server team released to manufacturing the Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 and also for Windows 7.
It includes two very expected features for Hyper-V based virtualization infrastructures, Dynamic Memory which allows to increase the virtual machine density on a Hyper-V host and Remote FX which uses the GPU on the server to deliver rich multimedia experiences for Remote Desktop clients.
Together these features enable new VDI and Private Cloud scenarios.
Please check the following post on Windows Virtualization Team blog for a detailed description on features.
I was working on a presentation about building a private cloud, and my day just got better. More details on this soon.
