Obtained the Project Management Professional Certification

Although I have attended the PMP Exam Prep online course at Trilex before Easter (during the lockdown period), I only scheduled the exam for 20 July 2020 because I had to travel to Bucharest to take the exam at the Computerland testing center. Another reason to  motivate me was that PMI simplified the prerequisites for the PMP exam.

PMI is also offering this exam with Online Proctored Testing, but I preffered to take the exam at the testing center, to be able to better focus. The difficulty of this exam is that is very long, there are 175 questions in 240 minutes. There is also a lot of content, any topic from the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is a fair question for the exam.

35 hours of training are a prerequsite for this exam. I have attended the the PMP Exam Prep online course at Trilex delivered by Hilde Corbu. I can definitely recommend this course, it was very rich in details and great explanations. We also did a lot of practice tests.

Another prerequisite is a four-year degree and 36 months leading projects (alternately a high school diploma or an associate’s degree and 60 months leading projects). You have to submit an application on the Project Management Institute website which has to be approved before allowed to sit the exam.

Note: The above image is a cropped screenshot of my certificate. You can verify my certification in the PMI Online Certification Registry.

Later edit: The PMP Certification Exam has changed on 2 January 2021.
